With the sudden closure of Atomic Comics 4 comic Shops in the Phoenix area comic fans don't have to worry about getting their weekly fix. All About Books and Comics, in Phoenix Arizona is working with Diamond Comics to insure that all of Atomics customers as well as their own, will get all their comics and related merchandise. Owners Alan and Marsha Giroux, confirmed that All About Books and Comics orders are large enough to meet the needs of everyone, but that they have additional books being shipped to have on hand Wed. All About Books and Comics, has been in business nearly 30 years, is the winner of the Will Eisner Retailer Award, and has received the Best of Phoenix award for more than a decade. Centrally located in Phoenix, on Central Ave. With over one million comics in stock and all related product lines All About and their friendly staff can meet the needs of all comic fans.
The small store is brimming at the seams with the faces of familiar superheroes and the best of the comic world villains. The walls are lined with row after row of the classics, the widest array of comics and graphic novels intertwined with character posters, apparel and more. The store holds a warm feeling of familiarity, and patrons are greeted by name as they filter in for their weekly visit. A mere 6 months after moving, she met Alan and, as she would say, the rest is history. Alan was born in Illinois but spent much of his childhood moving between his hometown and Arizona, before finally deciding to settle down in Phoenix. Although he became a teacher after graduating from college, he was an avid reader and comic book enthusiast and never lost his love for the written word. And from there, the oldest comic book store in the state of Arizona was born.

The couple, who have run the renowned Phoenix comic book emporium for 33 years, are getting ready to leave their longtime location on Central Avenue just north of Camelback Road and head for a new home next month. And the store's dedicated fanbase are likely to beat a path to their door, since All About Books and Comics, the longest continually operated store of its kind of the Valley, has been an institution and go-to spot for local comics aficionados and other geeks for decades. So, um, why are they moving, then? The couple says it's because their current landlord reportedly has other plans for the location. Instead, she says, they're planning to rent the space to a dermatologist's office and clinic next door, which will be expanding.
