Rapunzel and the Lost Lagoon | Disney Books | Disney Publishing WorldwideThe first part takes place one week after the ending of the film, Tangled , and the second part six months later, after Tangled: Before Ever After. The book starts with Rapunzel being introduced to Cassandra, her handmaiden who plays an important role in Tangled: The Series. Rapunzel and Cassandra alternate being first-person narrators throughout the book. The plot kicks off when Rapunzel finds an ancient book, "The Lost Lagoon", in the library. It speaks of an ancient, secret lagoon that might be filled with precious gems. With Cassandra's knowledge of the geography of Corona, Rapunzel and she soon find the lagoon and some blue gems in it, but can't figure out anything special about the gems or how they "work". Time skip to six months later; in the meantime the events of Tangled Before Ever After happen, like Rapunzel getting back her long magical hair after touching the black rocks.
Book Review | Rapunzel and the Lost Lagoon
This prologue helps establish their relationship, as Cas is the daughter of the Captain of the Guard and is capable of becoming a guard herself, feeling held back by her gender and because the found princess took a liking to her. Flash forward six months and this new adventure begins. When Rapunzel finds an old book in the castle library, she and Cas uncover a long lost poem that is half written in English and half in a long forgotten language. Fans of the series will delight in getting to know Cas better, as she really is an intriguing character and a perfect sparring partner for Rapunzel. Other beloved characters from the film and series are in this book as well, including Eugene Fitzherbert, Pascal, and Maximus, but the focus really is on the friendship between Rapunzel and Cassandra. The book is perfect for readers in 5th-8th grade, although fans older than that are certainly given a lot to love about this story.

Uh-oh, it looks like your Internet Explorer is out of date. - Rapunzel and the Lost Lagoon is a middle grade adventure novel by Lelia Howland. This story is both a prequel and a mid-quel to the Tangled television show that is currently airing on Disney Channel which, side-note, is super cute and I highly recommend.
Same nerves, same friendly encouragement. Yall I just finished Rapunzel and the Lost Lagoon and my cheeks are blushy and my heart is weak. I thought after getting this book today it would keep me occupied until season 2 came out. Anyways if you like a story about adventure, friendship, and love, highly recommend this book. The description sounds a little odd but I can totally see Cassandra attempting something acrobatic like that. But she learns in the end that her abilities made her stand out to the royal family, and that she was clearly competent enough to protect Rapunzel, walk her through castle life, and show her around the kingdom. Even if Cassandra thought it was a waste of her potential, she may have been just the person Rapunzel needed as her LiW ;.
